Let's talk a little bit about the Glock 19 Gen 5. I've shared before that I'm a fan of the Glock 19. When training a new male or female shooter, the Glock 19 is one of the first two guns I always introduce. They just work. They are reliable and easy to shoot. The Glock 19 strikes the perfect balance between size, barrel length, magazine capacity, weight, trigger pull and concealment capability.
Could be better? It definitely can. This particular model is the Glock 19 Gen MOS. MOS stands for "Modular Optical System". For those looking to add a red dot optic to their Glock 19, this model allows for that, with the removable plate only moving from the rear sight to the front. This allows the shooter to add any number of red dot designs from different brands to the weapon.
I also have a Glock 19 Gen 4. Can I tell the difference between the two? The answer is yes.
Most of the improvements from Gen 4 to Gen 5 are not what most people realize. However, this is not the case with wheel pulls and trigger resets. When Glock released the new single-stack 43 slim several years ago, it developed a new trigger system. For the size of the gun, it's very smooth and works well. It worked so well, in fact, that Glock adapted this new trigger system for all Gen 5 rifles. And a pistol the size of the Glock 19 Gen 5 made it even better.

Like most modern semi-automatic pistols, the Glock 19 is easy to disassemble. However, one of the few criticisms of Glocks concerns fragmentation. The trigger must be pulled to remove the slide from the frame. Before pulling the trigger as part of the bolt removal process, it is important to make sure the rifle is secure and clean with no bullets in the chamber. Also, everything is very simple, with very few parts to worry about. In fact, there are only four main parts to clean and repair.
Of course, if someone wants to learn or drill, there are additional parts for the rifle. These parts can be disassembled, exchanged, modified, exchanged, deep cleaned, etc. But this is optional.
